Delicious Spaghetti Squash Recipe In 20 Min

Spaghetti Squash Recipe. So today I’m making my spaghetti squash with Easy Meat Sauce. The spaghetti squash is sweet, the meat sauce is savory and the combination is perfect. If you’re looking for a lower-carb way to enjoy a savory meat sauce, then go to the store, and grab a spaghetti squash, So, okay, let’s go back to cooking. I’m just slicing through a three-pound spaghetti squash you need two so this is what you’re going to need for my spaghetti squash with Easy Meat Sauce Spaghetti Squash ground beef

Crushed tomatoes carrots onion garlic red pepper flakes olive oil basil and Parmesan cheese So, I’m just scooping out the seeds with a large spoon. Spaghetti squash is kind of hard to cut. Um, it’s probably one of the harder squashes to cut through but you just have to stab your knife through the center and wiggle it, rock back and forth and you’ll get it. These spaghetti squash are going to act as individual bowls. So, you’re going to eat right out of the squash. One half will be a portion for each person.

So, when you go to the store, take the time to weigh out each squash and make sure that each squash is anywhere between three to four pounds because if it’s any bigger than that, it’s harder to utilize and it’s also too much to eat I think for one person. If you want to be extra resourceful, then don’t throw out these seeds because you can always toast them up just like pumpkin seeds. So, you’re going to grab your olive oil and you just need three tablespoons for the entire recipe divided.

So, in the first step, you’re just going to put one tablespoon of olive oil amongst the four squash pieces and just drizzle it. You just eyeball it like me. We’re going to throw these into a  degree oven. And we’re going to put them cut side down after we season them. So you’re going to do the first step of seasoning with salt and pepper. But we will season it after it’s cooked too. So you don’t have to go super crazy right now. And then flip it upside down.

Then pop them into the oven for anywhere between minutes to an hour,  to minutes, or until a knife can pierce the thickest part of the squash easily. Remember to ABM always be multitasking so while the squash is being nice and roasted in the oven I have one and pounds of ground beef on the stove I use the second tablespoon of olive oil in the pan for that so what I like to do with ground beef is I usually buy the family pack of three pounds and then I just divide it into little sections when

I get home and I put it in the freezer marked with how many pounds of beef it is so I just split the pack in half and then I have a one and a/  pounds ready for me whenever I need it you just have to thaw it out so what I have going here is two cloves of garlic and we’re just going to mince it but you don’t have to be too crazy about making it super fine and then one medium onion and I’m just going to cut it into fine dice you don’t want the onion to be the star of your sauce you just want it

Spaghetti Squash In Oven/Easy Recipes

To kind of melt away into it so you can even grate it if you want to okay then you have two medium carrots which are just peeled and washed and then you’re going to grab a box grater or you can put it through a blade of a food processor if you want to and you’re going to grate it on the largest holes and we’re grating it instead of chopping it or dicing it because we want the carrot to kind of again melt away into the sauce and the carrot adds the sweetness to the sauce naturally.

When you get to the little nubby part where you think you might cut yourself on the grater, then stop and just give your cameraman a snack. Let’s move over to the stove. When the meat is brown and crusty, you add all of your aromatics, your carrots, onion, and garlic and then you season with salt and pepper. Make sure that every layer has flavor. And a half teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes for a little kick. And we’re just going to let these things cook together until all of the vegetables are soft and tender.

So that’s going to take about minutes. Ooh so after five minutes everything is well incorporated and tender. And this is why this is an easy meat sauce. And then you just grab an ounce can of crushed tomatoes. Pour it in. And then swirl in a little bit of water because all that at the bottom? Just a little. No waste. Swish swish swish. This is pretty much it. You’re just going to bring this to a high simmer which is kind of already doing and then cover it and let it simmer for minutes at least.

Now Add All Spieces In Spaghetti Squash

You can do a little bit longer but you need about minutes for all the flavors to kind of meld together, we’re finally in our place and it feels really good because I don’t know like I have all my old stuff now I was I was without it it was all in boxes and everything so now it’s nice to have my stuff and cook quietly in the kitchen with the snow falling and this is the perfect meal to start it off because this is just so comforting few more minutes to go

It’s been minutes so everything should just be nicely incorporated at this point and it looks like it. Taste for seasoning. Always taste for seasoning. Could go for a tad bit more salt. But the spice is good. So I think I have enough pepper and red pepper. And then you just wait for your squash. So, while I’m waiting for everything, I’m just going to grate some cheese, Parmesan cheese, We’re going for half a cup total and we’re going to divide that amongst all of the four pieces of squash.

Plus a little extra more to garnish on top or you can also do this method which is to get a vegetable peeler and make some shavings. Spaghetti Squash Maybe shorter shavings. Just for some dramatic effect for garnish. Your words are like without any scream so the squash has been cooling for minutes just so it’s easy enough to handle and that keeps them still warm but easy enough to handle oh look at that steam and that beautiful char that you can only get from roasting in the oven.

Add Olive Oil In Spaghetti Squash

So you grab a fork and just gently scrape. Scrape away the flesh. It just turns into spaghetti. I like to keep a little bit of a border around the spaghetti squash because I like to serve this dish right in its dish and so having that little border around helps to keep its shape especially because it’s still kind of soft at this point. This squash is about three pounds and this one is about three and three quarters so close to four pounds.

You want the strands to be soft enough but not mush because then the texture is a little weird. Spaghetti squash does not taste like spaghetti. I don’t care what other people say. It tastes like squash but it’s sweet and I don’t know. The texture is just so unique. So while your strands are nicely piled up and still a little hot you then at this point grab your last tablespoon of olive oil and just divide it among all of these pieces. The is just for flavor.

And then even though there was some salt and pepper in the beginning you need to season your squash. If you forget to season it it kind of doesn’t taste like anything. So you need to add that richness. Then you get your half a cup of freshly grated Parmesan. You’re going to evenly divide it among the four bowls. Feel free to add more if you want. Shoot. It’s your squash. I did say it doesn’t taste like spaghetti but I am treating it like it’s spaghetti and the flavors work

Garnish And Serve Spaghetti Squash

Because the nutty salty parmesan and the olive oil balance out the sweetness, the natural sweetness of the squash so it’s not too sweet and that’s why I like pairing it with the savory salty meat sauce. If you feel like your pieces of squash are kind of cut unevenly, then, just go like this and share. Sharing is caring. No one will even know. Everything’s still hot so I kept it covered. You get your gorgeous meat sauce.

And then you just do that This is a generous, generous amount of meat sauce for four portions. You might have extra and that’s fine. Serve it over real pasta the next day. The smell is insane so I bet my cameraman is salivating right now. spaghetti squash in the oven then I like to grab some shavings of Parmesan cheese which you saw me do with the vegetable peeler it is right on top And then some basil leaves. So, each person gets their little boat in a shallow bowl or a dish I think this tastes better than spaghetti and meat sauce. The meat sauce is just so perfect. That is good stuff guys. If you didn’t want to use spaghetti squash. Of course, you can always just use regular pasta, gnocchi, or even cheese tortellini. If you don’t want to use meat sauce then you can just toss the spaghetti squash in some butter, and herbs and that’s another meal in itself. Or a side dish.
